My Work

Angelica's Journey

Eighth grade is a challenging time for anyone, but Angelica Haakenson of Anchor Point, Alaska is proving she can succeed in class and compete at swimming despite losing both legs in an accident.

This short feature won a national Gabriel award for my solo work as a Multi-Media Journalist.

The Healing House

When two well known elders in the Alaska village Shageluk were murdered, tradition guided its residents through grief and honoring the victims.

This story was nominated for a regional EMMY.

Fort Rousseau

It was the 1930's and the United States saw a threat to its western coast from Japan. Defenses were built, including in Alaska. Some of them are still here today if you know where to look. This story shot and edited by Photojournalist Dave Brooks is an example of the research that goes into my longer feature stories.
